What is a cookie?

We make use of cookies on this website. A cookie is a simple small file that is sent along with pages from this website and stored by your browser (e.g. Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Opera) on your computer's hard drive. The information stored therein can be sent back to our servers on a subsequent visit.

A cookie cannot spread viruses.

Use of permanent cookies

With the help of a permanent cookie we can recognize you when you visit our website again. The website can therefore be specially set to your preferences. Even if you have given permission for the placement of cookies, we can remember this by means of a cookie. This means you do not have to repeat your preferences every time, which saves you time and allows you to use our website more pleasantly. You can delete permanent cookies via the browser settings.

Use of session cookies

With the help of a session cookie we can see which parts of the website you have viewed during this visit. This allows us to adapt our service as much as possible to the surfing behavior of our visitors. These cookies are automatically deleted when you close the web browser.

Google Analytics

A cookie is placed via our website by the American company Google, as part of the Analytics service. To this end, we have engaged in a user agreement with Google. We use the Analytics service to keep track of and get reports on how visitors use the website. We have disabled the option 'share data'. Google can, however, provide this information to third parties if Google is legally obliged to do so. We have no influence on this.

The visitor information collected by Google Analytics is linked to Google information from accounts of logged-in users who have consented to this linking for the purpose of ad personalisation. If you have not given consented to this, this data will not be collected.

The information that Google collects is anonymized as much as possible. The number after the last dot in your IP address is emphatically not included (for example: 192.168.1.xx). The information is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google claims to adhere to the Safe Harbor principles and is affiliated with the Safe Harbor program of the US Department of Commerce. This means that there is an appropriate level of protection for the processing of any personal data. Google analytics retains data for 14 months.

Hotjar

A cookie from the company Hotjar is placed via our website. We use this service to keep track of and get reports on how visitors use the site. Visitors to the site are assigned a unique user ID so Hotjar can track returning visitors without collecting personal information such as IP address. Hotjar stores data electronically in Ireland, Europe, for no longer than 365 days.

Hotjar states that it adheres to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union. This means that there is an appropriate level of protection for the processing of any personal data. Visitors and users of our site have the right to obtain a copy of the information that Hotjar has stored about them and to request that this data be deleted.

Social networks

Buttons are included on our website to promote ('like') web pages or to share them on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. These buttons work by means of pieces of code that come from Facebook or Twitter itself. Cookies are placed through this code. We have no influence on that. Read the privacy statement of Facebook or Twitter (which can change regularly) to read what they do with your (personal) data that they process via these cookies.

The information they collect is anonymized as much as possible. The information is transferred to and stored by Twitter, Facebook, Google + and LinkedIn on servers in the United States. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Google + adhere to the Safe Harbor principles and are affiliated with the Safe Harbor program of the US Department of Commerce. This means that there is an appropriate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.
